In fact, before I found out I had cervical cancer, I hadn’t even considered how I would cope with something as life changing as that.
When I was diagnosed, all I knew was that I didn’t want to sit back and have everything taken out of my control. I wanted to make sure I was as fit as I could be to receive such radical treatment as chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I wanted to feel I was part of the process.
It was only as I started to do some research and to gather information together that I realised I could do something positive to get my body in the best place to promote healing. And that is where my journey into visualisations began.

Feel Yourself Well:
A Positive Approach to Cancer
This self help book shares how the power of the mind can influence the body. I share my journey and information obtained regarding foods, alternative therapies, the books that inspired me, and the final decision to use visualisations alongside conventional treatment. This book shows a way of thinking using the mind and body and gives visualisation exercises which were used throughout treatment and beyond. The aim of writing this book was to collate all this information and pass it on to anyone who might benefit from it.
This is a very accessible, exceptionally well written book. It is practical and you can pick and choose - and reject - any of the suggestions. It's not just about dealing with cancer but can be applied to any illness or traumatic event. It is about having some say over your body and mind and how to create a positive mindset.
Lovely positive book, liked the writing style. Some self-help books can come across a bit preachy or smug but this was warm and friendly - a pleasure to read.
A warm & helpful book to explain how alternative thinking can help in peoples journey to recovery! Inspiring
